We are different, yet similar.

Being a co-founder and an account manager in Kreloses, I personally visited over 143 businesses in the last 12 months, ranging from one to over 100 staff, located in both the city and the suburb, working with different races, in different industries. They are fueled by different inspirations and have different financial capabilities too. Indeed, we are different people.

I can't help but notice that despite the differences, we are the same, in the business world. We work hard, we want to deliver the best for our customers, we are realistic and down to earth. You may start a business due to inspiration, pure impulsiveness or maybe you got fired hence forced into this situation. There are all sorts of reasons, but let's be honest, there is only one reason why your business can really sustain, and it is 'profit'.

If you run out of money, you can't pay your staff itself, rent and suppliers. Besides that, if you can't even take care of yourself, you will definitely have a hard time taking care of others. So tell me, how can anyone not care about profit? Naturally, business is about devising strategies around the idea of 'how we make money' but it does not mean that we need to be cunning and deceitful.

Every business owner that I have met so far, no matter how big or small the business is, it is all about reducing cost and increasing the profit. It is also all about giving our customers the best experience and ensuring all our staff deliver a consistent, high standard. This is not because that it is the right thing to do, rather it is because that our customers pay for our services using their hard-earned money and therefore they deserve the best experience.

We are similar in the sense that we know what it takes to sustain a business and what we need to do to survive. We know what motivates us to work harder everyday and what it is like to see our own hard work bearing sweet fruits. At the end of the day, nothing beats the satisfaction we receive due to our own creation and determination, as well as the acknowledgement we get by receiving a simple, genuine thank you message from the customers we served.
